Bruno's Pizza

In the 80's my Dad was a chef at Perth's prestigious Orchid Hotel in the city. It was where all the stars stayed and he met people like Jimmy Barnes, Neil Young and even Pink Floyd. But the most famous thing The Orchid was responsible for introducing Perth to a Wood Fired Oven.

Manufactured and imported from Italy, Dad was head pizza chef for some years before he opened his own place Woodpeckers in Subiaco the first gourmet wood fired pizza restaurant. Due to his amazing original pizza toppings the place was a great success.

These days wood fired ovens and gourmet pizzas are popular everywhere, so the next time you eat a wood fired pizza you can thank my dad Bruno Borgnino for making it happen.
